Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1v15)
God is holy (1Peter1v16) and God is love (1John4v8). His holiness demands

that our sin be punished, like any righteous judge in any righteous court

would demand (Genesis18v25). His love has provided a way for us to be saved

from this punishment by being forgiven from our sins and made right with

God. What is this way of salvation that He has provided? It is neither a

religion to practice, nor a set of values to live up to, nor a set of good

works to perform. Salvation is found in a Person, the Son of God, the Lord

Jesus Christ (Acts13v38). God's Son suffered and died on a cross outside

Jerusalem to pay the ransom price for sinners (1Tim2v6), making forgiveness

and salvation possible for you and me. He rose again from the dead three

days later and today He is a living Saviour, in fact, He is the only

Saviour, and the Saviour you need.

When a person recognises their own sinfulness and turns from their sin

(repentance - Acts20v21), trusting in the Saviour for the forgiveness of

sins (faith - Acts20v21) they are born again (John3v7). This life changing

experience brings a person into a new relationship with God and Christ, and

changes their life, their desires, their eternal destination, their

everything (2Corinthians5v17). God calls it receiving eternal life.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that

whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

(John3v16).
