What we believe:

What we believe about the Lord Jesus Christ

• His eternal deity: ‘Our God and Saviour Jesus Christ’ (2 Peter 1.1; Hebrews 1.8)

• His virgin birth and sinless life: ‘He did no sin’ (1 Peter 2.22; Luke 1.30-35)

• His atoning death: ‘Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures’ (1 Corinthians 15.3; Romans 5.6-8)

• His resurrection and ascension: ‘God...raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory’ (1 Peter 1.21; 3.22)

• His soon return: ‘I will come again, and receive you unto myself’ (John 14.3; Philippians 3.20)

• His future reign over the earth: ‘He must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet’ (1 Corinthians 15.25; Revelation 20.4-6)

• His judgment of all: ‘The Lord Jesus Christ ...shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing’ (2 Timothy 4.1; Revelation 20.11-15)

What we believe about salvation from sin

• Man’s total sinfulness: ‘All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’ (Romans 3.23; Psalm 14.2,3)

• The penalty of sin: ‘The wages of sin is death’ (Romans 6.23; Ezekiel 18.4)

• Man’s inability to save himself: ‘By grace are ye saved through faith...not of works, lest any man should boast’ (Ephesians 2.8,9; Jeremiah 13.23)

• God’s remedy in the cross of Christ: ‘Christ hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God’ (1 Peter 3.18; Isaiah 53.6)

• The need for repentance: ‘God ...commandeth all men everywhere to repent’ (Acts 17.30)

• The need for faith: ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved’ (Acts 16.31)

• The assurance of eternal salvation in Christ: ‘He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him’ (Hebrews 7.25)

What we believe about the local church

• A company of baptized believers: ‘They that gladly received his word were baptized’ (Acts 2.41; 18.8)

• Weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper: ‘They continued steadfastly ... in breaking of bread’ (Acts 2.42; 20.7)

• Regular Bible teaching: ‘They assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people’ (Acts 11.26; Matthew 28.18-20)

• Urgent gospel preaching: ‘with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel’ (Philippians 1.27; Mark 16.15)

• Prayer Meetings: ‘Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God’ (Acts 12.5; 4.23-31)

• Exercise of spiritual gift: ‘As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another’ (1 Peter 4.10; 1 Corinthians 14.34,35)

• Leadership by God-appointed elders: ‘The Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God’ (Acts 20.28; 1 Peter 5.1-5)

How to find us:

A summary of the key bible message:

God is holy (1Peter1v16) and God is love (1John4v8). His holiness demands that our sin be punished in full. His love has provided a way for us to be saved from this punishment by being forgiven from our sins and made right with God. What is this way of salvation that He has provided? It is neither a religion, nor a set of values to live up to, nor a set of good works to perform. Salvation is found in a Person, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts13v38). God's Son suffered and died on a cross outside Jerusalem to pay the ransom price for sinners (1Tim2v6), making forgiveness and salvation possible for you and me. He rose again the third day and today He is a living Saviour, in fact, He is the only Saviour.

When a person recognises their own sinfulness and turns from that sin (repentance - Acts20v21), trusting in the Saviour for the forgiveness of sins (faith - Acts20v21) they are born again (John3v7). This life changing experience brings a person into a new relationship with God and Christ, and changes their life, their desires, their habits, their everything (2Corinthians5v17).

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John3v16).
